Yelp closing office in Chicago, going with 'fully remote workforce'

Yelp is shuttering its office at the Merchandise Mart and closing its locations in New York and Washington, D.C., as it embraces remote work, more evidence of COVID-19's assault on the office market. The San Francisco-based online review company announced today in a blog post that the three offices will close as of July 29 as it moves ahead with "a fully remote workplace and design the future of remote work at Yelp," CEO Jeremy Stoppelman wrote.
