Women entrepreneurs invited to apply for federal funding

Nickel Belt MP Marc G. Serré is drawing attention to a funding opportunity for women entrepreneurs. The Women Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Fund is calling for new project proposals “that are focused on responding to systemic barriers and gaps for diverse, intersectional and/or under-served women,” the federal government website reads. The fund was launched under the government’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES) (a $6 billion project) and has allocated $25 million for project proposals that serve the mission of the Women Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Fund. In order to be considered, “projects must be led by non-profit organizations, be national or multi-regional in scope and focus on intersectionality diverse and/or underserved women entrepreneurs.” The project must also include a networking or mentoring component that enhances business development.
