Tornado warning declared in parts of western Manitoba Severe thunderstorm warnings, watches issued through west, much of southern Manitoba A tornado warning was in effect Thursday night for parts of western Manitoba, including Dauphin, Russell, Roblin, Winnipegosis, Minnedosa and Riding Mountain National Park. Environment Canada issued the warning shortly before 9:30 p.m. A severe thunderstorm potentially capable of producing a tornado may also bring damaging winds, hail and intense rainfall, the federal agency said. "This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation," Environment Canada states. "Take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately."
