Westhoughton: Police arrest man on suspicion of attempted murder A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a van was driven into a group of people. Police were called to Market Street in Westhoughton in the early hours after receiving a report of a man driving a van into people at 1.36am. Police believe the van was driven into a group of people following an earlier 'altercation'. The area was taped off and a cordon remains in place.
