West Brom fans celebrate in front of Wolves support after Premier League Cup triumph at Hawthorns
West Bromwich Albion completed a penalty shootout victory over Black Country neighbours Wolverhampton Wanderers after a topsy-turvy encounter at The Hawthorns.
Quevin Castro opened the scoring as he deflected a Tom Fellows cross into the net, but that joy was short-lived as Hugo Bueno’s pinpoint cross was met by Lee Harkin who nodded underneath the onrushing Ted Cann. Wolves then grabbed the advantage early into extra time. It was Bueno again the creator, this time for himself, drilling home.
However, Modou Faal scored with an acrobatic effort late into the final stages, paving the way for Ethan Ingram to convert the winning spot-kick as Albion prevailed 5-4 in the shootout to bring home the PL Cup trophy. And with so many bright talents on show, here are two that stood …
