Weather: Evening storms winding down, more storms Saturday
A summertime weather pattern is holding strong over Alabama this weekend, and that means daily chances of showers and storms.
A few of those storms could be on the strong side, especially on Sunday and Monday, according to forecasters.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has low-end severe weather risks in place for parts of Alabama on Sunday and Monday. A strong storm or two can’t be ruled out this afternoon either.
Sunday and Monday have a Level 1 or marginal risk, which means that isolated severe storms will be possible. The strongest storms could have strong wind gusts or hail.
It’s a summertime storm setup. Storms will be most likely during the heat of the afternoon hours and could last into the evening, according to the National Weather Service.
