WDIV's Randy Henry won't work Detroit Thanksgiving parade this year

For as long as Randy Henry can remember, Thanksgiving has been all about cheering on his Detroit Lions and eating all the turkey, greens, dressing, yams, homemade rolls, macaroni and cheese, strawberry Jell-O with fruit and banana pudding that his stomach can handle. And, of course, taking in America's Thanksgiving Parade. However, Thanksgiving morning this year promises to be quite different for Henry. That's because, for the first time in 28 years, a Thanksgiving Day parade will take place in Detroit and Henry will not be involved in bringing the festive sights and sounds of marching bands, giant balloon characters, festooned floats — and everyone's favorite, Santa himself — to his fellow Detroiters that will be watching the event on WDIV-TV (Local 4).
