Vaughan man stabbed and woman assaulted after dog sale meetup

A Vaughan man was stabbed and a female victim assaulted after a meetup to sell a dog, York police said Wednesday. Police were called to a residence on Crooked Stick Road near Glen Shields Avenue and Dufferin Street in Vaughan at approximately 10:15 p.m. for reports of a robbery. When officers arrived, they found a man with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital and is expected to recover. According to York Regional Police, the victim was involved in a dispute with a male and female suspect who met with the intent of purchasing the victim’s dog. The dog was unharmed and was not taken. A female victim was also assaulted during the altercation and her phone was stolen.
