Urgent search for boy allegedly given away by parents
An urgent search is underway for a 17-month-old missing baby after his parents allegedly gave him to somebody they met in a coffee shop.
Hoang Vinh Le, born on June 21, 2020, was removed from the care of his maternal grandmother on April 9 this year in Canberra, by his parents Hoang Thanh Le, 28, and Lyn Kim Do, 21.
Court Orders have been in place for Vinh to live with his maternal grandmother since April 19, 2021.
The parents have told authorities that on about May 19, they gave the child to a person they identified as "Kathy Nguyen", someone they had met at a coffee shop, and had paid $200 to care for the child.
The parents were arrested on May 20, however, Vinh has not been found. …
