UPDATE: Firefighters say grass fire near Colorado Springs Airport is knocked down COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Multiple crews are responding to a fire near the Colorado Springs Airport. The Colorado Springs Fire Department said this is a grass fire. UPDATE: As of just after 3:30 p.m., firefighters say the grass fire is knocked down. Milton E. Proby Pkwy will be back open to the airport in about 20 minutes, firefighters say. CSFD first alerted the public to the fire at about 2:45 p.m. on Saturday.
