Timm Fire in Vacaville prompts evacuations in Solano County

A vegetation fire blazing in Vacaville prompted evacuations in Solano County on Thursday afternoon, authorities said. The fire, dubbed the Timm Fire, was roughly 26 acres and 80% contained at about 7:45 p.m. and was burning near the area of Buena Vista Lane and Timm Road, officials with Cal Fire’s Sonoma Lake Napa Unit said on Twitter. The acreage was amended due to better mapping of the fire perimeter, Cal Fire said. Forward progress of the fire had been stopped, Cal Fire officials announced shortly after 4 p.m. “Firefighters will be in the area for the next few hours working on containment and putting out hot spots,” Cal Fire officials said on Twitter.
