Samantha Markle loses motion to have judge removed in Meghan defamation lawsuit
Samantha Markle has been dealt a blow in her defamation lawsuit against the Duchess of Sussex, over comments the royal made during her 2021 Oprah interview.
Samantha, 57, attempted to have Judge Charlene Honeywell – who was appointed by Barack Obama – removed from the case, claiming she wouldn't be able to be impartial in the matter due to the former US president's personal ties to Meghan Markle, 40.
"The Obama family, Prince Harry, and Meghan are 'allies' and strong supporters of one another," her motion alleged on Wednesday, as reported by Insider.

It also stated that the judge's "impartiality will be questioned".
However, Judge Honeywell has denied any relationship with the Obamas.
