Qantas to resume Sydney-London flights for Christmas Regular commercial flights between the UK and Australia will be reintroduced for the first time in almost two years. Qantas said services between Sydney and London would resume on December 19 to coincide with the likely lifting of Australian travel restrictions. Flights will be restricted to vaccinated passengers and are expected to service huge pent-up demand for visits to friends and family over the Christmas holidays. The national airline indicated that flights would proceed only if existing quarantine rules were relaxed by the Australian authorities. Travel to and from the country has largely been banned since the start of the pandemic to prevent the importation of Covid-19.
