Police extend cordon as bomb squad called to suspicious package

Humberside Police has confirmed they are dealing with a suspicious package and have chosen to extend the cordon in place. Officers were called to the Welshpool Close area of Bransholme, following the discovery of the package. Hull Live has been told by residents it is a jerry can and claim it has a cable from it. A Humberside Police spokesperson said: "Officers issued a 100 metre safety cordon on Welshpool Close, Bransholme, following the discovery of a suspicious package earlier today (Saturday, 14 May).
