Omicron ‘second most transmissible virus’ as two men in 20s die with COVID-19

A professor has suggested the latest Omicron variant has become one of the most spreadable viruses as New South Wales and Victoria record more deaths in the past 24 hours.
A leading professor has advised Australians to remain cautious when out in the public as dozens of deaths and thousands of coronavirus cases are reported each day.
Professor Anthony Cunningham, Centre for Virus Research, said communities should be "careful" as while the new variant was "mild" compared to previous strains, it was not a mild illness.
