“It’s like I’m sat at the start line waiting for a race. You want to have absolutely every base covered,” the three-time Olympic gold medallist said.
“You don’t go into a race with a few ‘what ifs’. You don’t go into a race without your crewmates all working together, your coach, your nutritionist, your weights program, your chef de mission, the whole team.
“When there’s a race you want to have absolutely everything covered and that’s what this team has done, covered all bases, and that’s why it was such a resounding result.”
