Midsize Digital Media Outlets Working To Add Channels To YouTube TV
YouTube TV is negotiating agreements with several midsized digital media companies, including Vox Media, Brat TV and Pocket.Watch, to add linear, OTT channels to its platform, The Information reports.
Marketers are increasingly moving advertising budgets to streaming platforms that show viewers ads, including NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service and ViacomCBS’s Paramount+.
Historically, YouTube has struggled to reel in advertisers who commit a large portion of their budgets to broadcast and cable television. While YouTube TV has just north of 3 million subscribers as of Q3 2021, the company continues to leverage the OTT streaming service to convince advertisers to move their TV budgets to the platform.
