London crime: Man jailed for 8 years after bringing teen to London to be sexually assaulted

A man who groomed a vulnerable teenager, then trafficked him for sex work has been given an eight year sentence. Kieran Rifat left the capital for south Warwickshire in January 2018 and then started grooming the teen. Warwickshire police’s investigation showed that between February 19 and 21, 2018, Rifat took the teenager to London, having been told he’ll be doing construction work. READ MORE: London crime: Disturbing CCTV video shows 16-year-old being stabbed in Woodford However, evidence found that 23-year-old Rifat had taken £400 in payment to bring the teen to London to be sexually assaulted. Rifat was arrested on March 2, 2018, and later pleaded guilty to arranging or facilitating the travel of another person with a view to exploit more than three years later in April 2021. Rifat, formerly of Tufnell Park appeared at Warwick Crown Court last week where he was handed an eight year sentence.
