Live updates as people told to avoid area after huge fire breaks out at scrapyard

People are being told to avoid an area of Merseyside after a huge fire broke out at a scrapyard. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service is currently in attendance at a scrapyard fire on Derby Road in Bootle. Crews were alerted at 4.47pm and on scene at 4.54pm. Four fire engines are in attendance and when firefighters arrived they found a large amount of rubbish smouldering. Crews are working with on site staff who are using equipment to drag out the refuse involved.
