Seahawks QB Russell Wilson denies requesting a trade this offseason

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson spoke to reporters for the first time this offseason when he took the podium after Thursday’s OTA. He fielded some tough questions, especially those about whether or not he had asked the team for a trade earlier in the year. “There was a whole thing saying I requested a trade, and that’s just not true,” Wilson explained. “I didn’t request a trade. I think everything kind of started from there, and then obviously tons of teams were calling, and the reality was I didn’t want to go anywhere else, I wanted to play in Seattle, but if I had to go somewhere, these are the teams I would consider.” Wilson was quick to add his thoughts on staying and playing in the Pacific Northwest. “I love Seattle, I love playing here,” Wilson said. “I’ve had a great career here so far.
