Report: Steve Bruce to replace Karl Darlow with Martin Dubravka for Newcastle against Wolves
Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce will reportedly give many Magpies fans what they’ve been demanding this weekend.
According to The Telegraph, Martin Dubvraka is set to replace Karl Darlow between the sticks for the visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
Dubravka has made just one appearance for the first-team since returning from his heel injury earlier this year.
He faced Arsenal in the FA Cup, but has had to be content with a place on the bench since, with Bruce keeping the faith with Darlow.
The English stopper made a fine start to 2020/21 in Dubravka’s absence.
In December Alan Shearer described him on Twitter as having been ‘brilliant’, following a top display in a 0-0 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.
But his form has dipped recently, and him being beaten at his near post by Marcus Rashford on Sunday was the final straw for many, and it looks like Bruce is also ready to turn to Dubravka once again.
