Rebel NSW Liberal MP kicked out of party over upper house job
Rebel NSW Liberal MP Matthew Mason-Cox has been expelled from the party effective immediately after he infuriated Premier Gladys Berejiklian by nominating for president of the upper house.
Ms Berejiklian wanted Mr Mason-Cox kicked out of the party after he put his hand up for president despite the government insisting Liberal MP Natasha Maclaren-Jones had been elected.
A party spokesman said: “The NSW Liberal Party has expelled the Hon Matthew Mason-Cox for breaching the party rules. The expulsion takes effect immediately.”
Mr Mason-Cox has been contacted for comment.
