Ohio State football and the recruiting battle for 4-star wide receiver C.J. Williams
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Brian Hartline is arguable the best recruiter on the Ohio State football coaching staff.
He reels in elite wide receivers the way someone breathes. Since officially taking over as wide receivers coach before the 2019 season, he’s landed eight top 100 recruits and his ninth is quickly making his way to that qualification. Three of those players were the top wide receiver in the country while another was a three-star who eventually developed into a five-star. Only one player out of that group has transferred in Mookie Cooper.
Quite frankly the only thing that could slow down the pace at which Hartline is bringing in talent is space. Seats are becoming hard to come by his classroom inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, but there are still viable options on the board as long as he can find one. None are more qualified for a spot than C.J. Williams.
