Cut fiber line knocks out internet, phone service in Habersham
Habersham County is experiencing widespread internet and phone outages due to a cut fiber line in Clarkesville. Habersham EMC, which owns the line, says the outage affects its Trailwave subscribers in Clarkesville and Demorest.
Habersham County government says its internet and phone lines are down as a result.
The county reported internet outages at the Habersham Administration Building, Aquatic Center, Animal Shelter, Fleet Maintenance, and Road Department as of mid-afternoon.
HEMC says it could take several hours to restore service.
