BREAKING: Four-Star Running Back Omarion Hampton Commits to UNC
Four-star running back Omarion Hampton is a Tar Heel, he announced Thursday on CBS Sports HQ. Hailing from Clayton (N.C.) Cleveland High, Hampton is the sixth four-star commitment for UNC in the 2022 recruiting cycle and lone running back.
Hampton is ranked the No. 12 running back in the nation and the No. 4 player from the state of North Carolina, per the 247Sports Composite. His three finalists were UNC, Penn State, and Florida. He also entertained offers from such schools as Auburn, LSU, Michigan, and Ohio State.
At 6-feet, 215 pounds, Hampton is a problem for any defender in one-on-one situations, especially when you take into account his speed. He clocked an 11.54 second 100-meter dash time while running track at Cleveland High.
The four-star prospect took four official visits during the month of June. Hampton began at Florida, then Auburn and Penn State before finishing his visits up in Chapel Hill.
