Blue Jays activate Ryu and Jansen, Chapman to hit leadoff vs. Rays

The Toronto Blue Jays have reinstated left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu and catcher Ryan Jansen from the 10-day injured list. Jansen will catch for Ryu on Saturday night's game against the Tampa Bay Rays (6:10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet ONE). With George Springer out, Matt Chapman assumes the role of leadoff hitter for the first time in his career. “It’s not going to change my approach,” he said to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi. “A little lineup shakeup now will help the guys a little bit.” Springer remains day-to-day after leaving Friday's game with a left ankle sprain after attempting to catch a fly ball in the bottom of the second inning.
