Aston Villa coach John Terry has three-word response to Leeds United transfer move
Aston Villa assistant head coach John Terry has sent words of encouragement to Lewis Bate after the midfielder signed for Leeds United from Chelsea.
Bate, the England youth international, completed a £1.5million move to Elland Road on Thursday after a decade at Chelsea.
The 18-year-old penned a three-year deal to become Leeds’ fifth signing of the summer after the arrivals of Junior Firpo, Jack Harrison, Sean McGurk and Amari Miller - the latter joining from Birmingham City.
Bate was a key player for Chelsea’s academy teams, captaining the club to the FA Youth Cup final in 2020 and making 20 appearances as the London club finished runners-up in Premier League 2 Division 1.
In a post in Instagram announcing his departure, Bate wrote; “10 years ago I walked through the doors at Cobham for the first time. Since then the players and staff I have worked with over the year have helped me become the player and person I am today.
