Apple iPhone 12S, not the unlucky iPhone 13, to come with a 25% smaller notch than the iPhone 12
We recently reported on the ever-shrinking Apple iPhone notch, with the 2021 iPhone likely to be receiving a smaller notch than 2020’s iPhone 12 while a future iPhone 14 would be verging on the notchless. However, for the time being, fans will still have to tolerate a notch for the upcoming iPhone 12S series, which is expected to be released toward the end of September.
According to a tweet from LeaksApplePro, the width of the notch for the iPhone 12S will be a reasonable 26 mm (1.02 in). The iPhone 12 had to tolerate the blemish of a notch that was 35 mm (1.38 in) wide, so it seems there has been over a 25% reduction for the upcoming iPhone 12S, which should please those that simply loathe having a black bar containing the required sensors for Face ID and the device's selfie camera “ruin” the display.
As for the name of the Apple smartphone, while "iPhone 13" is still in common usage in the media, it appears there are quite a few who insist it will be "iPhone 12S". …
